We have decided to put together a blog to share our information about open water swimming and training with the world! There will be posts about training, product reviews for swimming and triathlon, awesome videos, and other fun and inspirational topics. Would live some training advice on a one and a half year build up from doing 3km swims to wanting to do a 40km marathon lake swim!! any advice on nutrition and training would be great!!

Do you have specific questions that you would like me to address? Writing about training and nutrition in general is just very broad and can be overwhelming. Please let me know what specific questions you have so that I can address them in a more focused and coherent manner. Last summer I did some 3km open water events – my times were around the 50 – 55min mark.
Have not done much training over our winter but am gearing back up for another few 3km swims this summer with a 10km at the end (April 2012).
April 2013 I plan on swimming across Lake Taupo (New Zealand) 40.2km.
At this stage would love some advice on building my distance up over the next year and a half to be able to finish the 40.2km. I am not looking to set any records with the swim, just a challenge for myself… During the training process I also expect to shed aprox 60kg – this will obviously make the swimming much easier too.
